Temple B’Nai Israel’s Teen Experience is full of options to meet the needs and interests of our Temple Teens. There are opportunities for Torah, tzedakah and kef (learning, community responsibility and fun).
Confirmation Class (7th - 9th)
Students who participate in this program will confirm their status as adult members of the Jewish community. This program includes any seventh graders who have become B’nai Mitzvah, eighth and ninth graders. It culminates with a Confirmation service at the conclusion of the ninth-grade year after completing two years in the Confirmation program. The program offers students a chance to: learn more about their Jewish heritage, strengthen their Jewish identity, gain a sense of what it is like to be a respected member of the community by putting into practice the Jewish knowledge they have acquired in ways that benefit themselves and our community and participation in engaging course units that focus on current events and concerns of Jewish young adults. Students are encouraged to enhance their experience in this program by participating in other learning and leading opportunities such as Service leadership, Temple Youth Group and/or volunteering in Temple life, including Religious School.
Madrichim (8th and up) - Click Here For More Info
Our teens are invited to join our Religious School classes on Sunday mornings as teaching assistants, where they provide support to our lead classroom teachers and serve as positive Jewish role models to our students.
Madrichim will build on their knowledge of Jewish values and community while honing effective teaching strategies, leadership skills and knowledge of child development working in a collaborative setting.
Youth Group - BIFTY (9th - 12th) & Jr. BIFTY (6th - 8th)
Our youth group creates programming generated by teens, for teens and focuses on socializing, social action, and leadership.
