Religious School 2020/2021

"May the space between where I am and where I want to be inspire me."

It’s October!  Chag Sukkot Samech!  We are happy to announce we have a plan to facilitate the opening of religious school.

The reopening committee met on Tuesday evening, October 6th and recommended we move forward with Religious School BOTH in person and on-line.

In-Person Religious School Times: 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Online Religious School Times: 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM

  • November 22 - OFF for Thanksgiving
  • November 29 - OFF for Thanksgiving
  • December 6 - Religious School
  • December 13 - Religious Chanukah Celebration & Tarbut for 6th - 12th Grade (TBD)

The reopening committee has been watching the positivity rates in Pinellas County and they have been declining consistently within acceptable parameters, specifically, below a 5% positivity rate.  The committee remains committed to keeping our children, families, and staff as safe as possible. At a minimum, we will follow CDC guidelines.

Our process will be as follows:

  • Covid checks will be conducted when entering the campus
    • Temperature will be taken
    • Covid symptom check list
    • Wash hands
  • Classes will be held outside in the back parking lot under trees and tents
  • Masks must be worn at all times
  • Students and Faculty will be asked to bring their own chair or mat
  • Chairs will be six feet apart
  • One student at a time in the bathroom
  • Bring your own water and snack
  • Each student will have a personal bag with their supplies
  • Class size will be limited to no more than 14 students (including Madrichim) plus one teacher
  • Madrichim will help keep the online students engaged
  • No singing at all since that increases the spread should someone be positive
  • We will suspend the class (initiate a quarantine) and develop a contact tracing plan should there be a positive test among students or teachers.
  • On rainy days, we will conduct classes inside in a socially distant, responsible way.
  • Instead of bagel duty, we will ask Religious school families to volunteer to help set up and break down each Sunday.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we move forward with the reopening of religious school.  We appreciate your cooperation as we get started and look forward to a meaningful year of learning.
